Basic Training For Church Security Team Members (Online version)

For more than 10 years, Dr. Brady Stephens has been teaching churches how to respond to an armed threat. In recent years, it has expanded as a ministry of Centurion Bible College and includes a basic training program for Church Safety Team Members. The basic training program is taught in person at various churches, the Centurion Bible College Campus, or by Zoom and includes both live and video instruction as well as the opportunity to ask questions. This is the online version of the course which will provide most of the same information but will be delivered entirely by pre-recorded videos.
During this training, students should expect to learn how to organize a safety team, how to include in that team fire safety, medical safety and security. They should have a basic understanding of first aid in case of a medical emergency while 911 is called to get trained professionals on the way. Learn the dangers that pedophiles pose for the children in a church and how to protect children from that danger. There will also be a discussion of the role that firearms may play in the security of the church and the responsibilities of team members if they carry a firearm and the liability if an incident were to occur.
Included will be case studies and firsthand accounts that will provide examples of the type of incidents that may occur, what was behind those incidents and how a different reaction to that incident may possibly have brought a different result than what happened.
